Summary: In this three-hour course, students will learn the skills necessary to install, configure, and manage Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager (DPM). Students will create the protection groups that identify the network resources that will be protected, and install the agents to these protected servers. Students will also configure the DPM environment to support both administrative as well as end-user file recovery, and to also enable reporting and monitoring. A comprehensive hands-on lab provides students the opportunity to practice the skills they have learned in this course.

• Install Data Protection Manager (DPM)
• Configure the DPM environment
• Create and manage the protection groups
• Enable administrative file recovery
• Enable end-user file recovery through both Microsoft Windows, as well as through the native applications.
• Enable reporting from the DPM system.
• Configure Advanced Protection Options.

Technical Requirements

To view this course, you need:

• A Pentium II, 256 MB RAM with a processor speed greater than or equal to 400 MHZ
• Microsoft® Windows® 2000 or higher
• Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher
• Macromedia Flash 7.0 or higher (1MB disk space needed to install)
• Microsoft Windows Media Player 7.0 or higher
• Microsoft XML Core Services 3.0 or higher
• A Super VGA monitor with minimum screen resolution 1024x768, with 16-bit color.
